If you haven't met my aunt Pat, you are truly missing out. She brings the life and laughter to any place she goes. Four kids and TEN grandchildren look up to her smile and always giving nature. I am lucky enough to truly call her my Maunt (mom-aunt) because as a teenager, I spent my summers in California with her as my mother figure.
She has now been on dialysis (every other day!) for two years and FINALLY can receive a new kidney!! I have been so blessed to give her and my family this opportunity by flying out there this summer and donating my own kidney.
While this is incredible news, there are a lot of travel expenses required for this to happen. Our surgeries are actually going to be a couple weeks apart so it requires:
-at least one week of hotel rooms for each of us in San Francisco
-her travel from Visalia multiple times
-deductibles
-my flights there and back (bought only weeks in advance because this has happened so quickly)
-the cost of someone else coming out to California and flying back with me because I will not be able to fly back alone
-renting a car/Ubers to get to and from hospital
-food while out there
Insurance covers our surgeries but does not help with all these travel costs.
Anything you can give relieves Pat and our families of the financial burden that this blessing could have. We thank you SO MUCH, it is truly a blessing to have so many people who care about us.
