Help with expenses for Baby Nora Mae
Let’s help out with the extra expenses for Nora Mae. We want Shannon and Chris to be able to focus on her care and not have to have anymore stress right now.
The following is from Shannon’s Facebook page:
Hello Everyone! My name is Nora Mae and I am 1 month old today! On May 13th I entered the world and it was a little too much for me. I was not breathing and had to be resuscitated. I was airlifted to the NICU at MUSC where I have received incredible care and support from amazing doctors, nurses, and specialists. I have had many celebrations so far, like weaning off my breathing tube to breathe on my own and saying goodbye to my feeding tube and hello to my g-tube (eating through my belly because I don’t yet know how to swallow or gag). I am currently working on tolerating my food a little better and not throwing up so much and reducing my tremors, which make me shake and become agitated. I am the sweetest girl and have a long road ahead, but I will get lots of therapies and support from my family to make sure I can be the best I can be! The doctors have said that my brain has severe damage, but that does not discourage me or my family because I am here and I am a miracle. I may walk or I may not. I may talk or I may not. And that’s ok. I know that I will be unconditionally and fiercely loved every moment of every day, and that my family will be my biggest cheerleaders and advocates as I start this journey called “life”.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank all of you for your continued thoughts, prayers, calls, texts, and support as we walk, jump, run, trip, tumble, and skip down this road with sweet Nora Mae. She is and will continue to be a blessing beyond measure.
