Hi everyone!
Today I reach out with a heavy heart asking for help saying goodbye to my cat, Witten, who has been a part of my family for 13 years.
Since the 3rd grade, when he wandered out of a bush in our backyard as a tiny 1-month-old kitten, he has been a part of my family. I remember the vet predicted his birthday range for us, and my birthday fell right within it, so I told everyone my cat and I had the same birthday and was so excited about it. Witten brought a light into our home through everything life threw at us. He has watched my brother and me grow up and seen us through childhood, school and graduations, heartbreaks, milestones, and the best times and the hardest. He is more than just a pet and has held us together in so many ways.
Sadly, Witten has developed a thyroid condition as well as GI issues, and his health is quickly declining. Medication is not working for him and he is refusing food and water. Other treatment options are off the table since he is not healthy enough to survive them nor can I afford them. I want to make sure Witten has a gentle and loving goodbye, and that we can also honor him through cremation afterward, which would allow us to keep a part of him close, always.
Unfortunately, my family and I cannot manage the cost of euthanasia and cremation on our own right now. If you’re able to donate and help us bring Witten peace, that would mean the world. If not, sharing this would be a big help too.
Thank you for reading, your care, and for helping me give Witten a goodbye and honoring he deserves.
With love,
Anna Horeczko
