Support Eden’s recovery with Cancer

This is my Girlfriend Eden. A couple of months ago Eden was experiencing some chest pain that led her to visit the emergency department at Alexian Brothers. After some blood work and a chest scan, a small lesion was noted on her pancreas. Something that would not usually be found during a chest scan. Eden followed up with a Gastroenterologist after receiving this news, to which she was referred to a different gastroenterologist that specialized in similar cases to Eden’s. Eden scheduled an endoscopic ultrasound, to which they confirmed the lesion found on her pancreas, was a tumor. After being referred to a Pancreatic Surgeon, Eden learned the tumor on her pancreas, was cancerous. A tumor that was found completely by accident. Eden was recommended to have a Pylorus-preserving Whipple procedure, the second most invasive abdominal surgery behind a Liver transplant. After all of this news and stress, Eden was helping coach a High School girls basketball team. Something she is passionate about, and has done for the past couple of years. During a practice, she tore her ACL, and partially tore her Meniscus. Eden’s road to recovery will be a long one, not being able to do something she has wanted to do since losing her Brother in a car accident, be a Firefighter/Paramedic. To be able to provide care to the people of her community. Eden is the most selfless, strong, loving person I have ever met, and has never been one to reach out and ask for help. Even after an ACL/Meniscus tear, and a Cancer diagnosis.
