Howdy From The (A) Heart (Girl),

On July 4th 2025 devastation rained in on Hunt TX. As of July 19th 136 fatalities were confirmed, with people still unaccounted for. Along side this tragedy people have been displaced and homes, camps, businesses have been leveled.

One family owned camp that has suffered great damage to their grounds is Heart O' The Hills Camp for girls. Pictures of the damage can be seen in this profile. It has come to our attention that the cost of clearing the land amidst this tragedy will be debilitating. One large expense being the price for dumpsters and PortaPotti's on the grounds, which are necessary for work to continue. The cost of these are aprox. $1,600-$3,300 a week depending on weight of dumpsters. We know people are desperate to help in any way they can and this would be a GREAT way to alleviate some financial stress for a truly wonderful community/ family/ camp in need of some assistance. Our goal being ~$130,000 for approximately 52 weeks of dumpsters. If money is raised in excess to what is needed for the dumpsters 100% of that will be put towards other rehabilitation efforts for Heart O' The Hills Camp For Girls.

I, alongside thousand of others, was built by this very special place. It was here that I learned how strong and powerful our voices can be. It is here that I learned the importance of service to my communities. It was here I learned about chosen family, how to be a good friend, how to be still, and all about resilience. Let's give that back to a place that built thousands of courageous, confident, and helpful women. In memory always of our sweet Jane Ragsdale whose beauty continues to shine so bright though the Heart's vibrant community of strong, powerful, loving women.

I am a past camper, counselor, and head staff member at HOH (affiliated with the camp for 26 years) and have been recently involved with their onsite staff both in person and virtually since July 4th 2025, assisting as needed. I have a direct line of communication with those running disaster relief at Heart O' The Hill's Camp for girls ( Louann N, Cristi Lee A, Deen H, Kimber M, and Bailey M). They have expressed a need for funds to elevate debilitating dumpster expenses. These funds will be transferred to their account directly via this platform in the next couple weeks and used to pay off dumpster invoices.
