Help With Douglas's Medical Costs
Donation protected
Hello all,
Last Wednesday (10/24), I noticed some brown urine in front of my pal Douglas's (pictured above) litter box. I took him to the vet clinic, where he was put on antibiotics for a urinary tract infection and sent on his way. All seemed to be well until Monday morning, when I noticed that he was straining when trying to urinate, and when he walked away from his litter box, he was clearly in pain. I took him back to the vet, where they determined his urethra was not blocked, gave him some pain medication, and once again sent him on his way.
Early the next morning, Douglas crawled into our bedroom, gave a crying mew, and flopped down to the ground. He was lethargic, and uninterested in water or food (which, if you know Doug, is extremely out of character). I took him back to the vet clinic, where it was determined that his bladder was distended, and he had a blockage in his urethra.
The blockage has been cleared, but Douglas has needed (and will continue to need, for the next several days) round the clock monitoring, IV fluids, and medication. Frankly, the financial burden has become too great. Any money donated to this Go Fund Me will be used to cover Douglas's medical expenses. Anything above the cost of medical expenses will be donated to the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando (https://petallianceorlando.org/).
Doug is so very important to both Maria and I. He is part of our family. I really want to be able to provide him with the care that he needs, and without help, it does not seem like that will be possible.
Any donation will be so greatly appreciated, and if you cannot donate, and believe it is a worthy cause, please share this go fund me page.
Thanks so much,
Adam
