Hello there,
Douglas is our little bundle of fluff, a stunning 7KG (at healthy weight) Maine Coon who we love dearly alongside our other five cats.
Unfortunately fate gave us a near-deadly blow and, frankly, almost killed him.
Last week he stopped eating, and we took him to the vet where it turned out he had a 40c fever. Eventually it got to the point where X-Rays were done, and it was discovered he had a blockage in his colon. He dropped from 7kg to 5.7kg in a week.
During surgery it was discovered that his colon had become necrotic at the block site. By a sheer stroke of luck, the blockage prevented any food leaking into his abdomen, but surgery to remove the block became a life saving operation to remove a chunk of decaying digestive tract.
The bills have been paid for, for now, however we have maxed out every credit card and overdraft we have access to, as well as our emergency cash for these incidents. The funding target is not the whole cost, but is the cost we really need help with, minus £20 someone has already kindly donated.
I am attaching the two main invoices. The big one is the main treatment, whereas the small one is from the overnight monitoring after the operation. Douglas is not out of the woods yet, but the vet is now feeling hopeful he will recover, and we need to start repairing for some lean months of heavy repayments.
Thank you for your time,
Jon
