April 25, 2025 Donna Jean Gibson was determined by doctors to have suffered severe brain damage resulting from lack of oxygen after suffering from a diabetic episode while in her sleep.

This was a sudden and terribly tragic loss for me, my younger sister Carolyn and our little brother Billy.

Donna and Billy shared their home in Clearlake Oaks. And Billy having suffered a stroke due to diabetes complications in 2022, has been working to obtain disability benefits while living with our mother in her home on a tightly fixed income.

Billy will continue to live in the home he and our Mom shared, but he is in desperate need of some help with his living expenses while we work feverishly to get him approved for disability benefits so that he can support himself as he navigates the extreme grief we are all stricken with in the face of our mothers very untimely death.

We are also asking for assistance with funeral costs, to grant our mother her wishes to be cremated, and joined with her grandfather and infant grandson in the Delta waters of Northern California after we celebrate her life with our family in a simple and humble potluck gathering. All are welcome to attend. We will announce exact location and date information after we have some time to plan and come to terms with losing her.

We are all completely distraught after having to say goodbye to our Mom in such a terrible tragedy.

family gathering to honor our Mom, Donna, and largely to help support my brother who recently became disabled after being our Mom’s caretaker himself his entire adult

life after she became disabled herself.

He will need a lot of help to survive this very difficult time until he can get approved for disability.
