Help with Devin Costa's Medical Expenses

Hi, My name is Christy Barnard and I am helping raise money for medical expenses for my dear friend, Devin Costa. Devin was born and raised in LA. She graduated from ULL nursing school and from there moved to TX to start her career taking care of critically ill babies in the PICU. Back in 2010, during one of our nursing school tests, Devin started having severe pain and swelling to her leg. She finished her test, of course, then went to the ER. Come to find out, her entire leg was full of blood clots and she also had multiple pulmonary embolisms (clots in her lungs). Finally, after a year of recurrent clotting issues, she was diagnosed with May Thurner Syndrome and Protein S Deficiency in 2011. She was pretty well managed on blood thinners at first, but for the last 7 or 8 years that has been a different story. Despite being on high doses of blood thinners, the blood clots returned and her stents were clotting off. She has had 14 stents placed in her leg and has had over 20 thrombectomies since diagnosis. At one point during her journey, she was on dialysis from the damage to her kidneys caused by the contrast used during the procedures. Just this year, she has had 6 major surgeries to try and improve the blood flow to her leg. In January of this year, her pain was so severe, and she had no more room for stents. She was starting to develop ulcers/wounds from poor circulation. They had to try something else. Devin underwent an open left femoral endophlectomy and femoral to IVC bypass -- They basically had to reroute her blood flow due to continued issues with her stents. Shortly after, her new pipes also started to develop clots which meant, yet another surgery. She has since had even more complications/infections requiring even more surgeries and she is now hospitalized in the CVICU with sepsis. Unfortunately, she is not done yet. They know the part of her bypass in her thigh is infected. Later this week, they will go in and check the abdominal portion. Needless to say, Dev is looking at a long recovery and will be out of work for months, at least. If you can, please help her out by donating to alleviate some of the financial burden.
