On 4-14-2026 I was riding my horse on a road that we had been on many times and was hit by a truck and trailer going very fast I fell off when my horse was knocked forward and landed on his knees and then my horse proceeded to get up and run down the road. Once caught the damage to my horse was pretty significant and he was going to require veterinary care immediately. The guy in the truck did ask if I was okay but then proceeded to leave as I was catching my horse so no insurance was exchanged and he did not wait to file a report of the incident. Once I made it back to the barn the cops were called and a report was done and also we call the vet who came out to help save my gelding. "Denver" had multiple wounds from getting hit but the most significant was a cut on his back leg that require stitches. He also received a pretty decent laceration on the inside of his front leg and is pretty scraped up. He still is not fully out of the woods yet as we now have to worry about him potentially getting the stitches ripped out and he is going to be on strict stall rest at least for 4 weeks and then we will have to make another appointment to remove the stitches. I'm just making this go fund me in case anyone would like to help out with the vet bill which was close to a thousand dollars and the upcoming appointments he will need after that. I will also need to make sure his stall and wounds stay extra clean these next few weeks so will need to make sure I have all the supplies to make that possible. If you can't donate that is totally fine just please be thinking of my boy he's a young horse and has his whole life ahead of him and at the end of the day I just want him to be okay.
