Hi my name is Eli and I am trying to raise funds for dental surgery. I need to be put under anesthesia and have all of my teeth extracted to prepare for dentures.

I am about to be 32 years old and I am finally ready to do something about my state of my teeth. I feel so much shame for this and it’s been really hard asking for help. But I know if I don’t do this soon the infection, from having multiple broken teeth, will kill me.

A brief story on how my teeth got this bad: I was molested from age 2-10(I’m guessing ages because I’m unsure when it began or ended. This is my best guess). After that going to the dentist became very rough. It’s still nearly impossible and I have to be sedated the entire time. I also grind my teeth very hard(therapist said it’s probably related to the abuse) when I’m sleeping and that has caused stress cracks in all of my teeth. That coupled with lack of dental hygiene (due to depression/anxiety/ptsd) and multiple pregnancies I now have lost a large amount of my teeth.

Because of this it’s difficult to eat. And I have an infection that has been there for roughly 5 years. It is antibiotic resistant and the only thing that will cure it is removing the infected teeth.

Unfortunately it is cheaper (and in my opinion easier) to replace all the teeth with dentures.

If I am able to obtain insurance that will cover any part of the procedure it should cost around $7000.

breakdown:

$100 per tooth (easy removal) x20 = $2,000

$900 per denture (top and bottom) = $1,800

$500 anesthesia (per 30 mins) x2 = $1,000

$300 cost of surgical extraction (complicated)x7 = $2,100

I will also need to purchase said dental insurance which is roughly $100/month

That brings our total to $7,000 exactly. But I am hoping to get more. I do need to cover lost wages for the time it takes to heal as well as some of my husband’s lost wages for the time he will be caring for me and not at work.
