I’ve known Dawn for almost 35 years and we became “sisters” 28 years ago when I married her brother. I was so lucky to gain such a wonderful friend. Those of us who know Dawn, know that she has fought her share of battles in her 49 years, but she’s always battled them with such strength and a great sense of humor – that sometimes you forget how hard they’ve been. Her latest battle is going to require an even greater amount of strength and support.

Dawn went to the doctor a few months ago with new symptoms and found that she had two masses growing in her abdomen. Although the doctors originally thought it was uterine cancer, after a large, difficult surgery- we learned it was actually ovarian cancer. The two masses were malignant as well, which ranks her cancer as stage 3.

Dawn is now facing a prolonged treatment with chemotherapy. When you are a strong, independent woman, asking for help is even more difficult. But those of us that love Dawn just want to give her the peace of mind she needs to focus all of her energy on battling this terrible disease – without worrying about excessive medical bills. We’d love to raise $15,000 to cover these costs and to give Dawn this time to focus on her health.
