Help with David's Medical & Recovery Expenses

Donation protected

Hello, My name is Courtney Welch and I'm here to not only ask for prayers, but also ask for any donation you can give, big or small, to a wonderful person and family who are currently going through the unimaginable. David Corredor is my brother's (Ben) best friend and David is like a younger brother to me. If anyone describes David, they would say he is a social butterfly, a hard worker, a kind, wild and passionate individual and someone who loves his parents, older brother, Juan and friends with his entire being.

David is a healthy 25 year old who just purchased his first house with his brother and recently started a job he's quickly excelled in. When you are 25 year's old, you never expect anything bad to happen to you, much less, emergency open heart surgery that has you fighting for your life, but that is exactly what is happening to David.

On July 29th, David was in Key West with some of his friends doing what any fun and adventurous 25 year old's would be doing. He was having a great time and was free diving for lobsters for their mini season (which he has done many times in the past). However, when he got back up from free diving, he started complaining about his chest and it was hard for him to breathe. Later that day he decided to go get it checked out at the ER in Key West, just to be safe. Originally, the doctors at the ER said he was young and healthy and maybe over did it, but they would take a scan of his heart just to be safe. Thankfully they did, because the scan showed that David's aorta tore and the doctors said they needed to fly him out to Miami hospital for emergency open heart surgery.

The next day, the doctors began his surgery and what they originally thought was going to be an easier surgery, ended up being the complete opposite. Not only did he have a 20% chance of living and had many complications in the surgery itself, but there has also been many complications post surgery (I will not go into too much detail out of respect for his privacy).

David is still currently in the ICU in the hospital in Miami and even though he has beaten so many odds so far, he still has a long road to recovery. His family has also been with him every step of the way and they will of course have many bills coming up that I personally think we could and should help them with so they can continue to focus on the most important thing, David's recovery.

I know the Corredor family is so grateful for all of the prayers, concerns and good vibes everyone has been sending their way. If you are unable to donate to his medical and recovery expenses, please continue to pray because he still has a long way to go. However, if you are able to give anything to this wonderful family during this horrible time, I know it would help them so much.

You are strong and will get through this David. We love you SO much and we can't wait to see that goofy smile of yours soon! You got this!!!

Thank you everyone for reading and being a part of our fighters journey!
