David Lynn changed my life. If you met David, there’s a good chance you would say the same.
On Thursday, June 18, surrounded by friends and family, David Lynn passed away peacefully. David was an impassioned person who always made sure to share their love of anime, movies, games, and so much more with everyone around them. It was infectious. Before long, David’s interests became your interests.
They made sure to reach as many people as possible, whether by giving panels at anime conventions year after year or by writing professionally for Crunchyroll, Collider, and other publications. David’s time as Anime Club President at Longwood University was just the beginning of a career built around sharing their passions with others.
David was known in communities that stretched far and wide across the internet and across multiple decades, and they will be deeply missed.
The family is grieving right now and planning the funeral, but covering these expenses is never easy. Because of this, I am working with the family to put together a GoFundMe to help with the costs. The initial goal will be set at $5,000, which will help cover many of the immediate memorial and burial expenses.
Here’s how you can help:
• Donate — any amount, big or small, makes a difference.
• Share this GoFundMe widely — even if you can’t donate, spreading the word helps immensely.
If you would like to attend the Celebration Of Life service this Wednesday June 24th, please contact me(Calvin) for more information.

Calvin Blackwell
