Crom was a rescue from the Oregon Humane Society, a 'last resort' adoption who came into my life after a tough start. He spent his early years in a concrete pen outside, often going hungry as his older brother took his food. Despite his rough beginnings and lack of training, Crom blossomed into a lovable gentleman with patience, love, and a lot of repetition. He was always excited to greet friends, meet new people, explore the outdoors, and enjoy sleepovers with our friends. At home, he was the most chill and loyal companion anyone could ask for.
When I took Crom to urgent care, I thought he just needed his stomach pumped and some medicine. Instead, the doctors found fluid everywhere it shouldn’t be and told me he was going to pass within a few hours. I was in complete shock. Crom suffered sudden heart failure, and there was nothing anyone could do. Saying goodbye so unexpectedly was heartbreaking, but I am grateful for every moment we shared and for the community that loved him so much. Crom was also Matt Pike’s dog for many years, and he came to live with me because I was home more. He spent time with his pop, our bandmates, and his many aunties and uncles, touching so many lives along the way.
I had Crom cremated and purchased several modest vessels to share his memory with those who loved him. The costs of his cremation and the vessels are more than I can manage alone. Any support you can offer will help cover these expenses, and any extra will be donated to The Oregon Humane Society in Crom’s honor. Thank you for being so good to us all. Your kindness means the world during this difficult time.
