My name is chris the eldest son of Douglas Pippin. Doug was born on January 28th, 1965 and passed away on February 16th, 2023. He struggled for many years and in chronic pain for 30 years. My father was in a medical rehab facility battling a chronic infection he contracted in 2017 in Alaska he was there in rehab since he had a surgery a few months ago on his foot and required extensive Iv antibiotics. On February 15th at approximately 10:56 my father coded and was found unresponsive no pulse no respirations. Ems was able to get a pulse back but due to the unknown amount of time he was down prior to resuscitation he was brain dead. On life support no reaction to pain no reflexes no optical cranial reflexes nothing. Unfortunately at 6:27 he passed away after we made the decision to let him go. His passing was extremely peaceful and not once did he struggle. That confirmed him being brain dead and was ready to go. For years we tried to get a life insurance policy to help myself and my brother Greg to cover the cost of all expenses and the travel to spread the ashes in places he requested after his passing whenever that was. His untimely death was unexpected and still a complete shock. I’ve had several family members reach out about how to help financially to cover all the costs to honor his late wishes so I figured this would be the easiest way. Whatever our family is able to help with would be greatly appreciated. My dad was a great man loved everyone and more than anything loved his entire family. Thank you all in advance. We feel horrible asking for help but unfortunately traveling urns and cremation isn’t cheap. Please feel free to share your stories of our dad with us we would be forever grateful.
