Help with costs for Synovial Cancer 4 Bernice
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kellie Moats. I am a friend of Tony Little, Sheri Rainey and Bernice (Meme) Glover. Tony and Sheri took in Bernice a little over a year and a half ago, caring for her and helping her get through school and enjoy some kid life, something she had not had a lot of. But as we all know life has a way of changing plans.
Bernice started her senior year this year looking forward to it and playing her 3rd and last year of Basketball. Bernice goes to Southeast and is a proud Spartan. Tony and Sheri both are Southeast alumni as well.
On her 2nd day of school she had a doctors appointment to get the results of a biopsy that had been done on a lump in her armpit.
So, her second day of her senior year, Bernice was diagnosed with an extremely rare type of cancer. It’s called Synovial Cell Sarcoma. She is still attending Southeast on a homebound program.
Bernice is being treated in St. Louis at Siteman Cancer center. There has never been a case of this in Springfield. It’s literally 1 in a million.
Bernice has already had several surgeries and will start chemotherapy in just a few days. After a month they will start radiation on her at the same time. They will have to drive her to St. Louis every day for radiation for 6 weeks.
No one ever plans for something like this, and I know times are difficult, I would like to help them with some gas costs and bills that insurance does not cover. Anything left will stay in an account for future treatment costs.
We also have a private page for updates on Bernice, if any of you would like to join please message me so I can add you.
Thank you all
