In Loving Memory of My Sweet First Baby, Blanton

My heart is broken beyond words. My baby Blanton was only two years old — a tiny, joyful soul who loved everyone he met and always had his tongue hanging out, making people smile everywhere he went. He was pure love, gentle and happy, and brought light into every single day.

Recently, Blanton started having trouble with his tongue and swallowing. Despite everything, he never stopped being his best self or showing affection. After consulting with specialists, I took him to UC Davis for an MRI to find out why his tongue and esophagus weren’t working properly. I wanted to give him every chance to recover — to find answers and help him heal.

But during anesthesia, something went terribly wrong. Blanton suffered an airway obstruction and didn’t make it. Losing him this way has been one of the most devastating experiences of my life. I went there hoping to help him, and instead I had to say goodbye far too soon.

I created this GoFundMe to help with the medical costs and final arrangements for Blanton. I did everything I could to help him, and now I want to honor his memory in the most loving way I can. Your support, in any form, helps me keep his spirit alive and reminds me that his love still reaches others.

Blanton was my best friend, my comfort, my family. Though his life was short, the love he gave was endless. Any support — whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply a kind message — means more than I can ever express.

UPDATE 10/17/2025

I just got my final invoice from UC Davis this morning. They updated my final cost to $10,000. I initially had my goal set to the high end of my invoice, but since further care was not needed for Blanton, many things have been removed. That is a huge relief to me financially, but is still a huge amount of debt to carry. And does not change the fact that my baby Blanton is no longer here. I would have done anything for the outcome to not have ended up this way. Thank you to those who have already donated. It has already gone directly to Blanton’s afterlife care. He is being cremated near UC Davis and will hopefully be home in the next week when I can go pick him up. Any support that I can continue to receive is greatly appreciated as I pay off this outstanding debt.
