My name is Amber Jennings, and I never thought I would be in a position where I have to ask for help to pay for my brother’s funeral expenses—but here I am.
My brother, Cameron Jennings, was the victim of a single-car crash on April 4th near I-70 and Kipling in Wheat Ridge. He was the only one who lost his life. The circumstances surrounding what caused the car to suddenly go careening headfirst into the median are deeply disturbing and still unclear.
My brother was my best friend, my partner in crime, my confidant, my protector, my therapist—he was my other half. We shared a bond like no other. We were each other’s biggest supporters, and this sudden loss has left me completely empty. I truly don’t know what to do without him.
I am already facing financial hardship, and now I am trying to somehow come up with the money for funeral expenses so I can give Cameron the dignity and heartfelt farewell he deserves. I recently lost my home and am currently homeless with my kids. Now I’m dealing with this unimaginable loss while also trying to handle his affairs and care for his dog, Onyx, who needs surgery to remove a large lump on her neck.
Cameron was a jack of all trades and excelled in auto mechanics. He had a unique personality and a one-of-a-kind sense of dark, dry humor. He was the kind of person who would come rescue you no matter what. He had a magnetic presence that people were naturally drawn to. He was a son, a father, a grandfather, and my only sibling.
His absence is life-altering for everyone who knew and loved him.
Please help me. I cannot financially cover this on my own.
