Hi, my name is Brooke Bortz. I am setting up this fundraiser to raise money for Korbin's college in lieu of flowers for the sudden passing of my husband, Walter Levi Bortz. My husband was known to some by Chef Walter and to others as Levi. To Korbin, it was daddy. When people were asking where to send flowers I thought what will I do with all of those. Although they are beautiful, they will wilt and die and be just another reminder of what I, we, have lost. So to make something good out of something devastating I thought about what Levi would want.

I know he would want his son to grow up knowing him, God, and to be taken care of. The best way I can think to take care of Korbin would be to help with his college. Levi would love that. We don't expect anything from anyone but if you feel like you want to give something for Levi or for his memory then I can't think of anything he would love better. He loved his family, friends, food truck family, really everyone. He was so happy serving Nacogdoches.

If you don't know much about Korbin, he is a sports fanatic. At 8, almost 9, years old he can tell you every NFL player, team they are on, stats, who got traded when, why and how. He loves everything football as well as basketball and his latest craze baseball. He is intelligent, sweet, and exactly like his daddy. I know he will grow into the same kind of man Levi was and I will watch him grow every step of the way. I love you both so much.
