Help with Coach Bill Bishop's Medical Bills
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kim Bishop. I am the proud daughter of Bill & Pat Bishop. My Dad, 'Coach' Bill Bishop recently lost his 7 year battle with Lewy Body Dementia. If you were lucky enough to know my incredible father you knew he would do anything for anyone and very likely did something to help you. His life's goal was to matter to his family and players and to make a difference in their lives. He was a father figure to young players from single parent homes, he guided them through life's challenges and made sure they were staying on the right path. Coach was a Veteran and knew the benefits of belonging to a team, having a common goal and taking pride in your country. He started and led The Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Westview High School, which allowed him and my Mom, as Football/Baseball Coach and School Nurse, to become further involved in helping the next generation discover every talent, ability, and what made each kid special and unique. He was there 24/7 and would drop everything to help anyone and now I am asking for help for his number one priority in his life...his wife of 61 years. Pat was his High School Sweetheart, his 'Ever Lovin', his Ducky, and the Love of his Life. She was his every concern. My Mom and I cared for my Dad at home with the help of Hospice of the Valley for the last months. My Mom, a retired RN, was phenomenal with his care and taught me how to do everything that needed done to ensure he stayed home with us so we could spend every day with him making his last years happy ones. We fixed his favorite meals and desserts, got lots of hugs and kisses, watched John Wayne Movies and had lots of family time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was restricted to a wheelchair and unable to get into a car anymore but we tried to make every day the best day we could in spite of being homebound. To provide all of the care he needed there was much that was not covered by insurance...special lifting equiptment, wheelchairs, lift chairs, physical therapy items, memory care items, special eye glasses, the list goes on and on. It was all worth it because we had him with us much longer than the doctors thought possible. My Dad's number one concern was that my Mom would be ok after he was gone. He knew she had sacrificed many years and wanted her to still get to live a happy life, watch their precious 'Littles' grow up and have financial security. The medical bills continue to roll in and I hate to see the stress it is putting on her. I am asking for help for my Mom so she can repay the medical costs caused by this terrible disease so my Dad's wish can be fulfilled and she can just focus on being Grandma and Great Grandma and have some happy years to look forward to.
Thank you for your kindness and helping me keep a promise I made to my Dad that my Mom would always be taken care of and secure.
With Appreciation,
Kim Bishop
