If you had the opportunity to meet Viktoria Leen, you know that she brought so much joy to this world. Her smile was contagious, it was impossible to not feel the joy emanating from her sweet face. While the beginning of her life was filled with tragedy, the day she met Lea, her story changed. She was given the chance to learn, love, and live life to the fullest, and that she did. Despite her disabilities and the limits doctors had put on her life, she would lead a full life, exceeding expectations, proving people wrong, and overall "badassery." She got to go to school, learned how to propel herself and all 50+ pounds of equipment in a wheel chair, take an incredible trip to Disneyland and many vacations to the beach. She often visited the farmers market on weekends, attended numerous Michael Franti concerts, concerts in the park, pumpkin patches, Disney on Ice, the Cinnamon Bear Cruise and so many more wonderful adventures. One of her most simple pleasures was her daily walks in her stroller.
Mid June Viktoria was placed on hospice due to her progressive lung disease that was wreaking havoc on her little body. On June 23rd she peacefully and painlessly passed away, in her mother's arms, surrounded by the people who love her fiercely. There is nothing that will fill the void that she left on this earth, but as we grapple with that reality, we are trying to find a way to celebrate her life here in a way that honors and praises the legacy she leaves behind. Planning a celebration that lives up to the standards this little diva has set will be difficult. Lea appreciates all the love and support that has poured in from every direction. It is truly spectacular to see how many lives have been touch by our badass warrior princess. Thank you in advance to everyone for all the support whether that be financial, emotional or spiritual.
