My name is Anna Goble and I am working on getting the needed mental health help for my daughter Cal who is struggling with major depression and a will to live.
It’s been a little over 6 months since I last wrote and I wanted to update you. Cal is doing so much better and so are we but we have had new challenges come up with Cal and within the family. We have also worked on various outlets for fundraising done by Mike.
Mike is very much into AI and loves to mess around with AI music. He has created several albums of AI music and put them up for sale on the Bandcamp website: https://miketheguywholikesai.bandcamp.com/ The albums range from contemporary praise, to Latin, to country. They are so much fun to listen to and Mike has spent time editing each song for high-quality listening experience. He also has his books and audiobook for sale on Amazon, look for Jerry Copperpot and the Magician's Mashup by Mike Goble. The Jerry Copperpot will be a four book series and Mike is working on finishing the last two books and getting them out.
Now back to Cal and how we are doing in general. Progress first then our current situation: We have been able to get Cal on Children’s Medicaid since my last update and that has helped immensely. We have also nearly met our family insurance deductible due to the family challenges (car crash, asthma challenges, and mental health of various levels for the family), and once the deductible has been met we will have more financial resources available.
Now the current challenges. Cal has revealed more about her challenges and also made a couple more partial attempts on her life. The attempts are generally when she is at her lowest and wants a quick out. I have also discovered that Texas is a desert when it comes to resources. The residential treatment facilities (RTC) that work with medicaid have wait lists of 2-4 months. We have also been rejected by a couple RTCs in our private insurance network due to Cal’s acute situation and multiple attempts on her life. I am working on getting Cal into one of RTCs covered by our private insurance and am waiting for a response. If we can get Cal to a less acute state one of the hospitals that work with Medicaid will consider her as a patient and put her on a wait list. Everyday Cal is making progress and communication has improved, but she still has more low days then up days.
Thanks for reading, please share and/or consider donating and take a look at Mike’s stuff
