Hi, my name is Crystal and I’m fundraising for my son Caleb. My son has been Ill since September 20th 2021. What started out as what we thought to be just a reaction to his 11 year old vaccines has turned into so much more.

Caleb has been diagnosed with an Acute Kidney Disease. We’re lucky he has good days, however he has a lot of bad days.

The emotional and financial toll this is taking on our family is something I never thought I would experience.

 We’ve been all over from the Bay Area to Roseville several times meeting with many specialist, lots of testing. Now we’ve entered into the treatment phase. We go to Kaiser all the time (so much he has made friends with a lab tech, we only use this one person). We are being told that we may have to go stay at Kaiser for 3-4 days so the can treat and monitor him. 

Caleb still has a happy personality most of the time, yet he has been I’ll for so long he looks really fragile. Most days he is laying down, but sometimes he get peaks of energy and gets to do some things. 

A lot of our visits have high co pays along with most test we’ve had to do come with a very pricey price tag. We’re not sure at this time how much more this will cost. 

Caleb has also been on Home & Hospital leave from school. So he has a teacher come on his good days for an hour at a time, missing out on the classroom engagement and kid interaction. He usually does sports like Bowling at Mchenry Bowl and we were getting ready for baseball, and hasn’t been able to do any of that.

As a parent I’m watching my son suffer and I’m trying to stay home and take care of him and get the medical assistance we need. I pray he recovers soon.

Ive always been on the other side asking if people need my help, well now I’m that person kindly asking for anyone able to help us with any contribution, no matter how small. Anything would be greatly appreciated to help support my family through this difficult time! We would also like to thank everyone who has already helped.
