Help with Brandon Perry’s Recovery from Illness

Hello, my name is Kenneth Hon, Brandon Perry’s uncle. On October 8th, I picked up Brandon to take him to work. Brandon was feeling ill, but went to work anyway. I never thought in a million years that his young life would change forever. The next day Brandon was hospitalized with a life threatening case of pancreatitis. I was told by the doctor that Brandon’s case was one of the worst he had seen. Brandon had to be transported to the University of Chicago Hospital for further care. The last three weeks, Brandon’s condition really hasn’t changed much. He has to be on pain medication constantly and cannot get out of bed without assistance. Even though Brandon’s condition hasn’t changed much, the Doctor’s are hopeful because he has not gotten any worse. Soon Brandon will be transferred to a long term care facility closer to home to continue his medical care. As of now, there is no timeframe as to when or if Brandon will improve. My sister Pamela Thompson has been at Brandon’s bedside every day and had to take a leave of absence from work until Brandon gets better. My sister is on a tight budget and is trying to pay Brandon’s bills as well as her own. It’s almost impossible to continue especially being that she now has to pay for gas back and forth from the hospital and parking garage fees every day. Brandon’s employer does not offer any disability pay and he has no paid sick days. I didn’t want to make a Gofundme because I know most people just scroll past them and don’t pay attention. But I love my sister dearly and hate seeing her struggle. She is a loving mom and needs to be with her son. I know I would be the same way if it were my child. Also, Brandon has always been like a son to me. I love him with all my heart and soul. It’s my duty to do everything possible to help my family get through this sudden tragedy.
