Help with Bosley’s Medical Costs
Donation protected
Hi Everyone; this fundraiser is for our brother Bosley (#bosleythepitbull). He was admitted to the ER last week because he thought the red spotted lanternflies tasted delicious. So much so that he downed about 100 of them! (We know this because he vomited multiple times and it was nothing but the bugs!). There’s not much known about the effects of pets and lantern flies, but there are reports that they may be toxic to pets.
It’s been over a week now that Bosley has been in and out of emergency care. He was able to come home on Tuesday but had to be readmitted a few hours later.
Over the past ten days, this is some of what Bosley has had to endure:
-High liver values (normal is 1-18, Bosley’s has gone up to over 8,000!)
-gastroenteritis
-heart arrhythmia
- blood pressure issues
-elevated white blood cell count
-phlebitis
-plasma transfusions
-lab work
-cardiac testing
-ultrasounds
-IV fluid therapy
-nasogastric feeding tubes
Through all this, he has been a trooper and has been a star patient. When he is up to it, he is smooching with the staff.
About us:
We’re Mason & Letty, and along with Bosley we make up Teampitcrew dogs. You may have seen us on FaceBook or Instagram taking our humans across the US, dock diving, doing agility trials, dressing up, starring in a yearly calendar, and so much more.
Anyone who knows our humans know they’re not ones to ask for help; however, if anyone needs anything, they are the first to help out. We hope to raise funds to help with the financial strain of this situation. If anyone has the means to donate, we would be extremely grateful. And for those who cannot, please keep Bosley in your thoughts. You can help by sharing this fundraiser with everyone you know.
We also want to send a big Thank You to everyone for the encouraging calls, texts and messages; your kindness has not gone unnoticed. And to the friends and animal caring community who have donated directly to the animal hospital, we cannot thank you enough.
Our mom also has a PSA (public service announcement): If you see a spotted lanternfly, STOMP IT, SQUASH IT, SQUISH AND SCRAPE IT and by god, keep your pets away from them.
He has been treated at The LIFECentre Emergency & Specialty Veterinary Care and Valley Vet Emergency and Referral Center.
Thanks for taking the time to read our story and for donating and sharing.
