We are reaching out on behalf of one of my closest friends, Melissa Boone (Boonzie Tattoo), who was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. The cancer has spread to her lymph nodes, and she is now facing an incredibly long journey filled with chemotherapy, radiation treatments and multiple surgeries including a mastectomy. These procedures are just the tip of the iceberg she’s navigating. Beyond the emotional and physical toll of this diagnosis, Melissa will also be facing significant financial hardship. As a tattoo artist and independent contractor, she is being forced to put down her tattoo machine often  while undergoing treatment, leaving her without a steady income and without access to FMLA. Melissa has spent years creating art, building connections, and giving so much of herself to the people around her. Now, she needs her community to surround her with the same love and support she has given to others. Any donation, no matter the amount, or even simply sharing this fundraiser, would mean the world.
