Help with Boomer’s Medical Expenses & Cremation

Boomer is my sister’s 16-year-old cat and her constant companion. Over the past few days, Boomer became very sick—he stopped eating, started vomiting, and grew extremely lethargic. My sister rushed him to the vet, where he underwent bloodwork and x-rays, but unfortunately, the results were inconclusive. Now, Boomer has been admitted to the ER for further testing and care. The doctors suspect it could be something serious, possibly related to his heart or even cancer, but they’re still searching for answers.

The costs have quickly become overwhelming. My sister has already spent a significant amount at the vet, and the ER is expected to be even more expensive. If you know my sister, you know how much she loves her cat and treats him like her son. You also know she doesn’t like to ask for help or take money from people, but she really could use all the help she can get right now. I hate to see her going through this because Boomer means the world to her.

The money raised will go directly toward Boomer’s ER stay, treatments, medications, and any ongoing care he may need as the doctors work to find out what’s wrong and help him recover. Any support you can give will help my sister get Boomer the care he desperately needs. Thank you for reading and for any kindness you can share during this difficult time.

Update: He has pleural effusion, which is fluid around his lungs, which can be caused from something as major as heart failure or cancer to something more treatable like pancreatitis. Unfortunately, the only way to get a diagnosis is through more testing since the x-rays, bloodwork and ultrasound came back inconclusive. It did narrow it down to either inflammatory bowel disease or GI lymphoma. At this point Boomer needs to be admitted with further tests administered. Tonight the goal is to get him comfortable, give him fluids since he hasn’t eaten in days and get him hydrated before they start more testing which could be anything from having to get a biopsy or a CAT scan.
