Help with Bob's Rehabilitation
Donation protected
Hello, family, friends, and community.
As some may or may not know, Bob suffered a from a stroke on May 20th 2021, which landed him at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. On May 21st Bob was transferred to Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital for further testing. Initially, they expected he would need surgery to stop the bleeding, luckily as of May 23rd it appears the bleed is resolving on its own but he will need further testing to confirm if the surgery will be needed or not. However, Bob is still struggling with right sided deficits and is unable to walk or use fine motor skills. Bob has a long road ahead as he will need extensive physiotherapy and rehab to regain as much function as possible.
Bob was set to head back out west to work this week and now, unfortunately, that won't be possible for quite some time. Sarah will also be unable to work full-time for the time being as she will be the primary caregiver for Bob and their 2 year old daughter, Allison.
With Bob being alone in Montreal during this very scary time, we are hoping we can all come together and raise enough funds to help get a support person to be by his side during surgery, if needed, as well as the rehabilitation required to get him fit to fly home.
