How about this:
Hi, my name is Robin. This Black Swedish duck was found sitting in the grass near a lake, in the Willowbrook community (Eastgate area of Batavia, Ohio). He cannot walk because of a broken leg. He appears that he may have been grabbed by an animal and survived but his upper leg is broke in half. After a couple wonderful caring ladies were first there to make sure he was safe, I then volunteered myself to take him to a very reputable aviary veterinary clinic (Avian & Exotic Medical Center in Milford, Ohio,) for their opinion and expertise on evaluating this duck who now has the name BLUE. The vet clinic needed a name for his records, so he now has a name. Blue is a young healthy duck other than his serious leg condition. I had basically two options , surgery or euthanasia. Well, with his vibrant determination, I decided he needed surgery to pin his leg together and give him a chance. Was this the smartest financial situation decision…probably not…do I love animals…Absolutely. So here we are. A duck named Blue with a veterinary bill, a pin in his leg wrapped with a soft cast for stability, a makeshift rehab habitat and many weeks of loving recovery. Blue is scheduled for his 2nd doctor appointment November 28th plus 1-2 more before the end of the year. There will be a lot of care during his healing. This situation was not on my calendar of things to do in my busy life, but I couldn’t say no. This is my first ever plea, kinda embarrassing but it is for this duck. Any help that you all could give me for Blue will be greatly appreciated.
