Update, September 25th. Blue blocked again, so I did some research and the options were euthanasia or a perineal urethrostomy. This is a major surgery where they remove his genitals and reroute and enlarge his urethra. What choice did I have? I sure didn't want to lose him. We had the surgery done on the 14th and I was able to pick him up on the 17th. Yesterday was the follow-up visit and the doctor is very happy with the progress. He's eating and drinking well, and peeing a large volume of pee, quickly. He would get out of the litter box and meowl in pain, so I would give him some Buprenorphin to ease the pain. Today, for the first time, he peed, again lots, quickly, and got out of the box with no cries whatsoever. Pain free. This is the first time in months that he hasn't cried in pain while peeing. Thank you, Lord, we are deeply grateful. And thanks and bless all of you that have contributed and continue to contribute, to help pay the vet bills. They stack up quickly. Looks like we are going to have many more happy years together.

My big kitty boy Blue had a medical emergency last Wednesday, a urinary blockage. This is fairly common with male cats, and very painful. It can be fatal if not treated quickly. I took him to the emergency vet and they examined him fully, then put a catheter in to open his urethra and drain his bladder. He is the sweetest companion, the love of my life, and I've been nursing him back to health the last week. He's doing better, but will require prescription food and more care. It was an expensive vet bill, especially for a self-employed person, and anyone that would care to chip in towards the cost, it is greatly appreciated. Thanks and bless you.

He is resting fairly comfortably right now, healing and getting healthier.

My Big Bubba, a rescue kitty, the love of my life.

In happier times.
