Help with bills from Christmas Eve car accident
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Madison Bannister and I am 22 years old. I attended and graduated from Ithaca College in May of 2019 and have goals to continue going to school to get my masters in Psychology and to start my career, but these goals are temporarily on hold.
On Christmas Eve I was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident where I was hit head on by a driver who was not wearing a seatbelt and who was under the influence of alcohol. I was hospitalized for 36 days with a broken L3 vertebrae, dislocated spine, fractured ribs, punctured lung, and damage to my kidney and spleen. Because of the damage my body has been through, I am unable to walk and lucky to be alive. I have made great progress so far while going through physical therapy although I still have a long way to go in order to have a full recovery, which may not even be possible. These medical procedures and doctors visits have costed my self and my parents over $300,000 dollars and are continuing to rise. Insurance has cut off my ability to go to a private physical therapist so I am exercising and doing what I can at home. We have also not gotten justice for my accident and have had to hire a private attorney to help us.
If you could find it in your hearts to help myself and my family in this time of need, we would be forever grateful. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this, even if you can not make a donation please help share my story.
