I need help covering my cat's medical bills.

Several weekends ago, my cat, Ursula, would not stop throwing up. She would try to eat or drink, and it'd come back up in less than 15 minutes. Already concerned, I took her to an emergency room once I saw pink in the vomit. When she passed the initial panel of blood tests and an X-ray showed no internal obstructions, the doctor sent Ursula home after giving her anti-nausea medication, telling me to bring her back if she threw up again within 24 hours.

Within 10 hours, she was throwing up again.

Ursula spent several more days at the hospital for observation. Since coming home again, she's done much better. She's been able to eat and so far has kept it all down. (Fingers crossed that this continues!) All bloodwork and body scans she's had have come back normal, so as best as we can tell, she suffered some sort of brief but serious stomach bug.

I'm thankful that this was not the beginning of a more serious problem, but this episode has still left me in a significant financial crunch. I have pet insurance, but even after they paid out for the initial ER visit, I've been left with a sizable credit card charge, due to the copay and the fact that they will only cover part of the cost of care. What's more, they have been processing the claim for the second (much costlier) hospital visit and stay for weeks now, and if it's denied, I'll be on the hook for even more. This has caused me tremendous stress, as you can imagine.

I have no savings to draw on, in part because emergencies like this seem to keep happening, and I don't want to go into ongoing credit card debt over medical costs. I'm embarrassed to ask for help like this, but it's really the only option I see. Assuming insurance covers the second claim, I'm still $2,000 in the hole; if they don't, it'll be even worse. Any help people can provide would be unbelievably appreciated.
