Help with bills during my recovery to walk

Hi, I’m Amy!!

I’ve been suffering with many disorders and complications following years of treatment from blood cancer and bone marrow transplant since 2015. I was diagnosed with a serious and aggressive case of graft versus host disease. This is when my body and a host body doesn’t agree. Then it attacks my body. I have very tight skin, trouble walking, terrible joint pain and spasms all over. My hands and feet are deformed because of this. My pain is on a daily basis.

This year has been particularly hard on my body. I’m in constant pain, many infections, and hospitalizations while still trying to have a smile on my face while working two jobs.

I have been in the hospital for three weeks now. I’m currently fighting a infection in my central line with a blood clot. But encountered a major bleed a hematoma caused by heparin to treat the blood clot. I required three units of blood during this time, and they had to go in to stop the bleed. I became very disoriented and didn’t understand what was going on. I received another unit of blood the next day. Then received my ongoing photopheresis therapy as well. This helps trick the body cells to think the good cells aren’t the bad ones. I’m doing much better but because of the hematoma I’m in a lot of pain and I can’t no longer use my left leg. My right hip surgery has been called off indefinitely.

I have been bed bound and need assistance to walk. I’m required to go to rehabilitative services for physical and occupational services to help me walk again.

I am not one for asking for money, I work hard in life, but I really do need the help. I also ask for many prayers, because this will be my hardest encounter of illness I’ve ever had since I’ve been diagnosed.

This is causing extreme stress for me with not being able to work and hardship. It’s just Emily and I doing this together. She is my strength to live! Christopher’s trauma is much different. He takes me to appointments if he can. But he can’t stand seeing me in such pain. Both my children had to grow up to fast. It has stolen mostly Emily of many things including the stress of watching over me. Her biggest fear is I’ll be dead in bed. This is because she’s saved me many times from being unresponsive.

Social Security payments doesn’t meet todays needs to pay every days expenses. Including this deductible for rehab and now transportation to the rehab from Hersheys hospital. The cost is now $500.00 for the ambulance and .23 cents per Mile.
