Help With Benny’s Eye Surgery – Support His Medical Journey
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend Cari Ayala, a devoted single mother who has been caring for a sweet kitten named Benny. Benny came into her life as a 3-week-old foster from Front Street Animal Shelter. At that time, Cari was syringe and bottle feeding him, providing round-the-clock care to ensure his survival. From the beginning, Benny faced health challenges, starting with what was believed to be a mild upper respiratory infection (URI). Despite multiple rounds of antibiotics and eye ointments, his symptoms kept returning.
Eventually, Benny was diagnosed with Feline Herpesvirus (FHV), a chronic condition that affects his respiratory system and eyes. Cari officially adopted Benny on August 12th, and since then, she’s been doing everything she can to give him a loving, healthy life.
Sadly, Benny’s condition has worsened. On October 9th, he was diagnosed with conjunctivitis and corneal edema. While the conjunctivitis has cleared and the edema has improved, Benny now suffers from anterior uveitis and has lost vision in his left eye. The vet’s final recommendation is to remove the eye to relieve his pain and improve his quality of life.
Cari reached out to Front Street Animal Shelter to see if they had any programs that could help her finance Benny’s surgery. Unfortunately, the only option they offered was to surrender Benny back to the shelter, where he would be euthanized. Cari and her daughter love Benny deeply—surrendering him is not an option.
This surgery is urgent and costly. As a single mom, Cari has already spent hundreds on Benny’s treatments and medications, and she needs our help to continue giving Benny the care he deserves.
Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward Benny’s vet bills and surgery. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign to help us reach others who might be able to support.
Thank you for your kindness and compassion. Benny is a fighter, and with your help, he can live a comfortable, happy life.
