Help with Beau’s Life Saving Surgery Expenses
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Holly, If you know me you know I love my dogs fiercely. They are family. Last night (December 1st) I noticed Beau acting a little off. After taking a closer look it appeared he may have bloat. Bloat is when the stomach flips, and then a dog’s stomach fills up with gas…and blood flow becomes restricted to the stomach and potentially other organs. It is deadly if not treated, and you have to act fast. My sister and I quickly got him to an emergency vet. After X-rays it was confirmed Beau had bloat. Beau is only 4 years old and an otherwise healthy, lovable hound. I gave consent to have the surgery done, as the vet said I caught it early and we would have a good chance of saving him.
Beau made it out of surgery at 4am December 2nd, and is doing great per the surgeon. He will probably not be home for a few more days.
This life saving surgery came with a hefty price tag of $8,000. Two years ago I came across Beau on a Facebook post. “Free to a good home”. I learned the first two years of Beau’s life he lived on a chain outside 24/7. His owner’s neighbors were the ones who made sure to feed him and give him water over the fence. After many pleas from the kind neighbors the people who owned Beau agreed “If you can find him a home they can have him”. I drove 2.5 hours in the pouring rain to Zanesville Ohio with my mom to go get him. He’s now 4. He had a good prognosis with surgery with him being so young. He’s got so much life ahead of him, and deserves to live to be a powder faced old dog with more spoiling and love.
If anyone would like to donate towards Beau’s surgery so I can focus more on his recovery it would be greatly appreciated. If you know me personally, I’ve fundraised in the past for dogs/cats/ even bunnies I’ve rescued and fostered. Friends, family and strangers have been so generous with that, and I’m so grateful for generosity I received over the years with helping homeless animals. It feels weird asking for help with my own personal dog. Honestly it’s straight up uncomfortable. But if you’d like to donate, I would forever be so thankful. If you can’t, I understand. If you can pray for Beau’s speedy/smooth recovery we could use that too. Also sharing this link so we can reach more people would be a great help.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you for any prayers, donations, and shares. ❤️
