My name is Hannah, and this is my little nephew, baby Wade Johnson.

Wade was born on October 7, 2021, and due to complications during delivery had a shortage of blood supply to the brain, and therefore was diagnosed with brain damage. We are so grateful to the doctors who are doing everything they possibly can to reverse things if they are able to.

I spoke with dad (my brother, Simon, a very hardworking and talented young fellow many of you may recognize from our bluegrass band, who has another little boy back home who can’t of course be with them now—big brother Dewey, 1 yr.) It turns out that he and mom Chaia could be in Green Bay with baby for weeks. Simon of course has to return to work fairly soon, and even with him working the medical costs will be substantial. I wanted to do something to help them cover this and get baby Wade the best possible care, and also take some financial and emotional stress off mom and dad at such a difficult time.
