On October 18, 2022, my baby cousin, Preston Kendall, was born. Shortly after birth, he began experiencing eating problems. Two days later, his conditions severely worsened and he was flown in a helicopter from Fort Mohave, Arizona to the children’s hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. After spending two weeks in the NICU, he was diagnosed with a rare disease that only affects 1 in every 5,000 babies. This disease is called Hirschsprung’s disease, a disease that affects the colon and large intestine, with the the only fix being surgery. Preston will be affected by this disease for the rest of his life, but surgery can alleviate many symptoms. Preston’s surgery will be on January 26th, 2023 in Phoenix, Arizona. This is four hours away from his home. Preston and his family will have to spend a total of 2 weeks in Phoenix for this surgery. Then, they will have to travel to Phoenix for the next 6-12 months 1-2 times a month to meet with his surgeon, following the surgery.

I would love to help my baby cousin and family in anyway possible, so I am setting this go fund me to assist with not only the unexpected medical bills associated with the NICU stay, helicopter ride, surgery, and surgery appointments, but also the costs of constant travel every month. This is especially important because his parents have run out of paid time off due to the unexpected hospital time for baby Preston and still have so much more time to take off for him.

Preston is the sweetest, smiliest, and happiest baby who adores his big brother, Jack. He also loves babbling to his loving mom and dad. Anything and everything helps for my cousin, Preston. Thank you.
