My mom, Evie, was a wonderful person who would do anything for anybody. Growing up in our neighborhood, she was known as Auntie Evie to all the kids. She worked hard to raise me and my sister, always doing everything she could to keep us happy and safe. Her kindness and generosity touched so many lives, and she was truly the heart of our family.

In the past nine months, I’ve experienced unimaginable loss. I lost my husband to cancer, and then my mom to the same illness. They were both my best friends and the people I loved most in this world. While caring for my mom during her illness, I lost my job, which made things even harder. When my mom passed away, her life insurance didn’t quite cover all of her funeral expenses, leaving me with costs I can’t manage alone.

I’m raising funds to help pay the rest of my mom’s funeral expenses and to cover the cost of engraving on the headstones for both her and my husband.
