Update: I picked Auggie up from the clinic today around 4pm. He is sleepy and lethargic, but starving! Thank you all for your support ❤️

Any of you that know me know that Auggie is my baby. I agreed to foster him on August 22nd of 2020, and four days later I was contacted by the rescue saying there were applications that came through for him. Despite Miso’s (my cat) desire to send the rambunctious puppy off to a new home, I chose to keep him. I couldn’t picture my life without him only after 4 days.

I woke up on March 3rd and went to feed Auggie. Normally, he’s jumping 5 feet in the air when I get his food bowl out. Yesterday something was off. He refused to eat, and then immediately threw up. He was lethargic throughout the day, and the vomiting continued in the evening. I made the decision to take him to the animal hospital (rather than waiting for our appointment with my vet the next day). 

He had a high fever, his heart was beating abnormally fast, and his stomach was severely distended. The doctor put a tube down his nose to drain the fluid from his stomach (he had 1 liter of foul smelling fluid sitting there), then did another X-ray. They saw highly suspicious material floating in his stomach and recommended emergency surgery. Every thought entered my head, but I knew Ihad to do whatever it took as he’s still a puppy and has so much life to live. The vet performed an abdominal exploratory around midnight and found his stomach was filled with acorns. They were able to clear his stomach, and he slept the rest of the night. 

I am asking for any help covering the surgery and ER expenses. I would be so grateful for any help.
