Help with Ash’s Recovery
Donation protected
On Sunday, April 23rd, 2023, Ash Hussain was brutally attacked and assaulted by 5 unknown assailants, while he was out watching the hockey game at a local Calgary venue. Due to this seemingly random attack, Ash has been left with life-threatening injuries and trauma to his brain. Ash has been on life support in the ICU at a Calgary Hospital and has been in a medically induced coma after suffering from the injuries to his brain and fighting for his life. It is unclear at this time, how long Ash will be in the hospital for and what the outcome of his injuries will entail.
At this time, the doctors and nurses are doing their best to get Ash to get to a fully waking or conscious state, but progress has been slow and this may be due to the brain damage that Ash has sustained. There is a possibility that Ash’s recovery could take months and we do not know at this time what the outcome will be. There could be possibilities of sensory and motor function issues and/or other complications.
Ash’s sister and Mother, have had to travel to Calgary from Kamloops and Vancouver to be by his side. The cost for travel, living expenses and local transportation to and from the hospital in Calgary, as well as having to maintain Ash’s mom’s place in Vancouver while she is away has been a source of added pressure on the family.
There will be a need for Ash’s mom, sister and brother-in-law to travel numerous times over the next several months between the two provinces of BC and Alberta.
In addition, Ash’s sister Neelam will need to help support Ash with his finances such as maintaining his home, car, and bills while he is incapacitated and unable to return to work.
We wholeheartedly appreciate your love and support during this very difficult time.
