Steve’s funeral and medical expenses

Donation protected

My dad Steven Scott, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday November,14th. Anyone who knew him knew my father as a funny, outgoing, smart, tell it how it is kind of man. You want to bet he always made sure it was known as soon as he entered  the room. My dad also had the biggest heart. He always acted like he had a tough exterior but he had such a gentle soul. My dad was a hero to all. My reasoning for creating this is I want to cause a financial relief for my step mom. This is a time to grieve and the last thing I want is for her to stress about money. My step mom Kathy means the world to me. She has been there for my dad through it all and hasbeen there certainly for the toughest times. If there is one thing in this world I would want and I know what my dad would want is to know that this woman he truly loves is taken care of. I thank you everyone ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I'd you feel more comfortable donating directly or sending cards and condolences feel free to email us for contact information at [email redacted] or [email redacted]

Steven E. Scott was a loving fiancé, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who touched the lives of many people. A gentle and quick-witted man, Steve livened all rooms he entered and brightened the days of everyone he met.

Steve passed away on November 14, 2020 at the age of 63 but is survived by his fiancé Katherine Keezer, his children Kristina Scott and Matthew Scott, his brothers Thomas Scott and Russell Scott and sister Vicki Worcester, his mother Myrna Scott, his five grandchildren and many other beloved family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Philip Scott and his brother Richard Scott.

Born and raised a Mainer, but a fan of the NY Giants, Steve grew up in Portland and attended Portland High School. After school, Steve worked very hard to support his family at Barber Foods, Fairchild Semiconductor, and then balanced two jobs at Amato’s and The Steakhouse in Wells. Steve was an excellent cook who loved sharing his culinary creations with the ones he loved.

No matter how hard Steve worked, he always made time for his loving children and grandchildren and supported them in all their activities and passions, including refereeing and coaching their sports teams. Steve taught his children Kristina and Matthew how to be strong but compassionate people able to thrive in the world and he will live on through them.

Steve created a wonderful life for himself and his fiancé Katherine in New Hampshire where they ultimately settled down. The happy couple often explored the rugged picturesque landscape of New England and appreciated the immense and inspirational beauty of nature. Despite his passing, the love Steve and Katherine have for each other will survive and endure.

Steve’s life will be honored and celebrated at a wake on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 5-7pm ET at Hobbs Funeral Home in Scarborough, Maine, which will be open to all. Flowers and other thoughtful gifts for support are always appreciated, but in lieu of such gifts, the family welcomes any donations people are able to provide at Steve’s GoFundMe at the following link: https://gf.me/u/y8v9aj. Given the current capacity and distance restrictions, the family intends to hold a small, private funeral for Steve which will be streamed online at 8am ET on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=184491239989765&id=107223071049916.
