Help With Anthony's TBI Recovery

On October 28, 2023, Anthony was in a car accident where his airbag caused two brain bleeds and a skull fracture and he was transported to UT Health Hospital. Anthony was able to explain the accident to the Trauma staff when he arrived at the ER.

The following day, Anthony suffered a seizure which caused damage to much of his brain, and he rapidly declined within the following few days.

The trauma doctors did not expect Anthony to live past November 1, 2023, but we have faith that God has the final word. On November 2, 2023, Anthony was still living, Praise God!! We were told, at best, Anthony may be able to breathe on his own.

It has been a rollercoaster for Anthony, to say the least. In the last week and a half, Anthony has opened his eyes and began to communicate with us by blinking, is opening his mouth and moving his tongue, and has many facial expressions. He is alternating between the tracheostomy and biPAP to help rebuild his respiratory strength and we are working on getting him into a Neuro Rehab as soon as insurance and the doctors approve. Anthony has had an amazingly supportive care team and circle of family and friends.

Unfortunately, Anthony's car insurance only had Comp & Collision to cover his car and Liability, and did not have Personal Injury coverage for him and we are filing all of his medical and recovery under our health insurance. We are at 30 days in the hospital and have a long road to rehabilitation and recovery ahead of us.

Anthony has the heart of a fighter and is not going down without a fight. We are believing for total restoration and we know God is not done with Anthony. Anthony will have a great testimony and he will walk to tell it!
