Help with Annie's cancer costs!

Meet Annie, she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in July, 2020. Shortly after, she underwent surgery to remove part of her thyroid gland, hoping to remove all of the cancer. Sadly, a later scan showed Annie’s cancer had spread to the remainder of her thyroid as well as multiple lymph nodes around her neck.
Thankfully, Annie was referred to the University of Michigan and in March, 2021 she had an extensive neck dissection to try to remove as much cancer as possible. Next she will begin multiple radioactive iodine treatments that will hopefully eliminate any remaining cancer.
Even though Annie has insurance, her out-of-pocket costs are well over $8,000 a year which does not include all potential treatments . As an hourly worker, it is impossible for Annie to cover her portion as well as cover any other living expenses.
We are reaching out on Annie’s behalf to assist with her medical expenses as she is already on multiple payment plans from 2020. Donations will be used to help pay Annie’s medical bills as well as any expenses that she incurs to help with her care while she is in treatment. Any additional monies will be set aside for her to assist with future medical expenses as it is realistic to believe that this will be a long-term fight.

More About Annie
For the past 11 years Annie has been a dedicated employee for a Tractor Supply Company store in West Michigan. Besides driving a forklift, which Annie really enjoys, she loves to help people at the store. Annie is known for bringing her pet rabbits to the store and many customers would call to see when she was working to ensure a visit with the bunnies.
Annie is currently on short-term disability while she is in treatment and recovery. It is sad that a person in our country, who works a full-time job and has insurance, could be in this financial situation due to a cancer diagnosis. Sadly, this story is all too common and as we work to help Annie, we also want to bring awareness to the overarching challenge that many people find themselves in.
