Hi folks,

My name is Summer (Geimer) Tyson and I'm fundraising on behalf of my sister, Winters (Geimer) Larca.

At about 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30th, 2025, the Larca family experienced a devastating house fire in Virginia Beach, VA.

Winters and Orion (4 y.o., nearly 5) were in the home and able to safely exit, while Kenny was at work on base. One of their cherished cats, Frederick, perished from smoke inhalation while their other two pets fortunately escaped. Winters and Kenny are both active duty Navy, serving our country for a combined 35 years between them.

Nearly their entire second floor, which housed every bedroom, has been affected by fire, smoke, and water damage. Their first floor has been majorly impacted by soot and water damage. The home is uninhabitable at this time, and the Larcas have lost a majority of their possessions.

Our family is no stranger to life altering events. On June 28th, 2018 we lost our mother, Wendi Winters, in the Capital Gazette shooting.

Just like always, Wendi's 4 kids stick together!

Phoenix, Montana, and Summerleigh are doing everything they can to support Winters and Kenny during this time, so please don't hesitate to reach out to a sibling.

While an insurance claim has been filed and the home will eventually be repaired, the Larcas have many unexpected expenses ahead of them. Securing long-term housing will be paramount, as well as replacing daily necessities such as clothes, toiletries, shoes, and toys. We appreciate any help our community can provide at this time.
