My name is Stacey, and I’m raising funds for my family of four—my husband, our three-year-old daughter Ariella, and our four-year-old daughter Winter (Winty). Winter is autistic and has faced severe medical challenges since she was a baby. She was once a happy, chunky infant, but as she grew, she struggled to eat solid foods and relied on baby purees and formula. Despite my efforts to get answers from her doctors, her health continued to decline. She suffered from constant stomach pain, bloating, and severe vomiting, but her symptoms were often dismissed as minor issues.

This spring, Winter’s condition worsened. She became increasingly lethargic, stopped eating, and her blood sugar dropped to dangerously low levels. After multiple ER visits and tests, she was diagnosed with ketotic hypoglycemia due to malnutrition. She spent weeks in the hospital, hooked up to IVs, and eventually needed a feeding tube surgically placed through her abdomen. Winter now receives nutrition through her G tube and is undergoing intensive therapy to learn how to eat and swallow. Despite all this, her underlying condition remains undiagnosed, and she still faces daily pain and uncertainty.

While my husband stayed with Winter in the hospital, we fell behind on rent and were evicted. Our landlord proceeded with the eviction despite knowing about our situation, and we lost most of our belongings during the move. We are currently homeless, with nothing left, and are staying in a hotel for just a couple more days thanks to my husband’s boss. After that, we have nowhere to go and no resources to secure a place to stay. We have no income, no stable transportation, and no food. Our immediate needs are for safe housing, food, and transportation so we can get Winter to her medical appointments—including a critical visit to Boston Children’s Hospital to see a geneticist. Any support will help us stabilize our lives and give Winter the care she desperately needs.
