My name is Winter! I'm a trans woman living in the UK and I'm looking to get bottom surgery. I'm unable to get surgery on the NHS as the surgery type they perform isn't suitable for me for congenital reasons, and so I have to look elsewhere to get a peritoneal pull-through operation which is expected to cost upwards of €12,000 (About £10,500). UPDATE 06 May 2023 - I have been given a cost of €17,000 by the surgeon, which is a hair over £15,000.

For a long time, bottom surgery has been something I have wanted but I pushed it to the back of my mind because it seemed like some far-off unattainable goal as well as the fear of surgery. After a near-death experience a few years ago in Copenhagen involving an electric scooter, I changed a lot of things about myself that I was too scared to do before; I realised life was too short. Now, after much reflection, I have decided that life is too short to leave this goal unattained; fear shouldn't get in the way of happiness.

I have some things which I am selling to put towards the operation, as well as saving what I can and looking into my finance options. People close to me have also offered to help, so I'm looking for help with the rest to go towards the surgery as well as towards pre-operative consultations and tests.

The expected cost of surgery (peritoneal pull through with Dr Miroslav Djordjevic) is €17,000, pending a consultation. I will also need to see Dr Stuart Lorimer via GenderCare (whom I have seen in the past) to provide a psychiatric evaluation in advance of the operation which will cost £360. In addition to these costs, I will also need to undergo pre-surgical tests which are not provided as part of the cost of surgery, and which are likely to cost around £500. Lastly, the cost of transportation to / from Dr Djordjevic's clinic in Belgrade will be around £450 and the cost of accommodation will be around €840

Factoring in a little extra, I will need to raise around £17,500. I have some valuables which I expect to be able to sell for around £2,000 and some existing support of £1000-2000, as well as the option to take out a personal loan amounting to £6,000 with Monzo Bank PLC. I am asking for £7,500 on this campaign under the assumption my valuables won't sell (as I'm struggling to move them and have been trying for a few months).
