Hi everyone,
I’m fundraising to help my puppy beat parvo.
He is a 2 month old dachshund that we got yesterday on October 2nd.
He was happy, running around, eating, and being a happy go lucky pup. When I woke up this morning, October 3rd, I decided it’d be smart to bite the bullet and take him to an emergency vet for a visit instead of waiting to get an appointment at our regular veterinary clinic a week from now. I thought it’d be a good idea to just go, pay the expensive emergency vet bill, wait several hours, to get a good and clean bill of health and return home to do his puppy activities.
My heart shattered when I saw the vet tech come from the other side of the clinic, in a full gown, mask, gloves, and shoe covers. I rolled my window down and got the unfortunate news - “he’s positive”.
As you may or may not know, parvo is an extremely risky virus that has a high fatality if untreated.
The breeder said he will refund me the money for Winston, if and only if I return the puppy to him. I do not trust this person to give him the appropriate care he deserves and now I’m at a moral dilemma. I do not want to take him out of the emergency vet clinic where he is getting treated to take him back to the original owner.
The vet bill is hefty, and likely to increase if he needs additional care. As of right now, he will be there for 48 hours under constant supervision, ivs, injections, etc.
A weiner dog has been my dream puppy for years. My friends and family can vouch for me- and I am heart broken that this is how it has turned out when just yesterday, I had been my happiest in months.
As I got this little guy, he’s stolen my heart. His little squeaks and big belly would steal yours too. As it is my responsibility, I will be taking out a credit line to help him in his fight.
If you are able to donate, please do. I love him so much.
