I don’t like asking for help but it’s been a rough week. I just had to rush Winsloh to the ER Hospital Tuesday morning. She had thrown up in her kennel, had severe diarrhea, shaking and a fever. They did an exam, a VetScan Comprehensive Diagnostic Profile + CBC, an Ultrasound Guided Cystocentesis, VetScan cPL test, & Abdomen Xray Study with Radiology Interpretation. They did subcutaneous fluids , ondansetron and maropitant while she was there. They stated labs were normal and the CT was normal but they seen a soft tissue on the X-ray that was either food or a foreign object and wanted us to return Tuesday evening for another X-ray. They sent her home on meds (Visbiome, Maropitant & Fenbendazole). That in itself had a cost of $1808.15. Thankfully I do have insurance but they don’t cover exam fees and I have a 10% coins so on that visit I owed $383.18. They did a followup radiograph Tuesday evening and interpretation for another $351.10 which insurance covered all but $34.71 for that Visit and stated it was gone. She did not get much better over the next 24 hours so I scheduled an appointment with her normal vet today (Thursday March 27). They did another CBC (said atill all pretty normal) kept her in the hospital on IV fluids and IV maropitant, and her electrolytes were off. They still stated that they cannot find anything wrong except just maybe a GI infection or she got into something. I picked her up and that was another $1019.69 that I owed $142.96 that insurance did not cover. I have to keep an eye on her overnight and if she’s still not eating or drinking tomorrow we will have another visit back to the vet tomorrow. In total for the last 3 days I had to pay $564.85 and each way to the vet is a 45 min drive (8 different trips). I had to miss work to which I am trying to make up as much time as I can. I am not complaining as I would do ANYTHING for my fur babies even if that puts me a little behind. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
on top of this I was in the ER last Saturday (3/22/25) and they just admitted my gma to the hospital yesterday (3/27/25)
