Hello! My name is Sabrina, Winnie’s mom. I adopted Winnie 7 years ago from Animal Rescue League of Boston, and since then we have traveled all over the country together, moved to Colorado, spent countless hours cuddling, and visited many national parks together. She loves wearing pajamas, getting pup cups, catching leaves and snow, climbing rocks, being little spoon, and hugging every human she meets. She has even started coming to work with me in hopes of becoming a therapy dog at our clinic where we provide therapy for people in recovery. I wouldn’t be here today without her, she has always been my rock.

On Monday 2/24 I brought Winnie to the vet for an oral exam and a potential cleaning. To my surprise, she had a large tumor growing in the back of her mouth. On Wednesday 2/26 I was told it was likely cancer, and would need a biopsy to see if she qualifies for a paid clinical trial for melanoma. The vet stated that if I cannot afford the biopsy, that I should simply focus on “making her comfortable”, something I dreaded hearing. I decided to start this gofundme of the estimated procedure amount for her biopsy, in hopes of getting the helps she needs for treatment, so that we may continue seeing the world together. She has helped me in countless ways, and all I want is to help her through this, because we still have so many plans together. She has been with me through the best and worst of the last 7 years, and I know she has so much more life left.
